Over this two-day course we will engage in brief writing assignments to tease out our inner critic and explore this criticism through supportive group discussions. We will utilize rock climbing as an exercise in building self-acceptance/affirmation, patience, and trust. Each of us will identify our personal limiting beliefs and overcome them through various challenges on the rock. Over a campfire, we will create a nourishing shared meal followed by a mindful eating exercise with some of our favorite treats provided by your guides.
Together we will create a safe space to be highly vulnerable both with our emotions and with our bodies as we scale the rock cliffs of Smith Rock State Park. Join us as we continue to build our tribe of uniquely strong and beautiful women in every size, shape, color, ability, and form.
Contrary to popular and ignorant assumptions, there is no "body type" required to relish in the infinite joy that rock climbing has to offer. The activity has no prejudice, and yet there remains a stigma deterring those who do not fit an "athletic build".
The truth is that anyone can climb and the challenge within climbing is unique to you! When you use your own body to maneuver over the multi featured rock wall, you find that each movement is matched exclusively to you and your body. Perhaps you are shorter and draw strength from your ability to high step. Maybe you draw strength in from your legs and excel on low angle terrain. You will find that the distinct construction of your body is your secret weapon that leads you to the top.
Join us to discover your strengths and celebrate them in a fully empowered, unrestrained, and unapologetic good time at the crag.
