This clinic is designed for women (cis, femme, trans, queer) to celebrate our bodies in movement and exploration of the vertical walls of Smith Rock State Park. It is an opportunity to uncover and utilize our strengths as well as build gratitude and appreciation for our bodies, exactly as they are.
There will be discussions about body-image, self-esteem, and radical acceptance which we will overlay onto climbing themes such as courage, trust, patience, and ego-driven expectations. We will find that climbing is an empowering activity for all body types and we will challenge the misconceptions that limit our physical and emotional capacities. Expect to meet other women in a vulnerable setting and find out just how bad ass each one is, including yourself!
This is a two-day clinic involving top-rope rock climbing, camping, delicious meals, courageous conversation, and a really good time establishing and fortifying self-love and stoke for the outdoors!
The curriculum utilized in this clinic was developed by Sarah Regan. Sarah is an AMGA Single Pitch climbing instructor and a certified Body Positive Trainer through the Body Positive Institute of San Diego. She has been developing this workshop over the last two years both on the West Coast and East Coast specifically for She Moves Mountains and Wild and Weightless to help create a deeper connection in our unique bodies and minds.
*NOTE: This clinic differs from the Wild and Weightless clinics held in previous seasons. If you are interested in a clinic which focuses more on the physical and mental health concerns of body-dysmorphia and eating disorders, Sarah will be co-hosting this event in July.
