Clinic Description
Clinic Description
Like most styles of climbing, crack climbing is all about technique. At our one and two-day Crack Climbing Clinics, we'll get you up to speed on the techniques you need to climb cracks like never before.
Kicking off the day with demos on how to properly tape and protect your hands, we’ll then transition into a range of crack climbing techniques, from finger locks to toe jams, before heading to the rock.
Following the on-rock portion of our crack climbing lessons, you'll have the unique opportunity to practice everything you just learned using our crack-simulation boards.
What to expect:
To provide the opportunity to practice jamming at the crag, we'll set up top-ropes on routes ranging from 5.9 - 5.11. The grades may seem intimidating at first, but we guarantee that by applying your newly acquired, proper crack climbing techniques, it will all begin to make sense!
We look forward to hand jamming with you at one of our upcoming She Moves Mountains Crack Climbing Technique Clinics—sign up now and we'll see you there!

FAQs
How many participants come by themselves?
The majority of women come to our clinics alone - somewhere around 95%. If you are hesitating to join because you would be coming solo, please know that we expect a majority of our participants to be joining by themselves, seeking community.
I've never climbed before. Can I still attend?
ABSOLUTELY. This clinic is designed for beginners. The entire ethos of She Moves Mountains guiding is to remember what it felt like to try climbing for the first time. It's intimidating, but we will be with you ever step of the way.
What is the average age of the women who attend?
We generally have a wide range of ages at our retreats. The average tends to fall anywhere between the ages of 26 to 45. But we have had quite a few women in their 60's join as well. It really is up to the attitude and physical ability of the participant.
