Clinic Description

What do you do when you're four pitches off the ground and your partner gets injured, you rappelled past the anchor, or the terrain is simply too hard? Having a handful of tricks up your sleeve could make the difference between a small misadventure and a call-for-a-rescue epic.

This 2-day clinic will cover the following skills:

  • Mastery of ATC guide or Reverso (or other tube-style locking belay devices). These are useful for so much more than just belaying!
  • Load transfers - belay escape, passing a knot, etc.
  • Rope ascension.
  • Rappels - preventing things from going wrong, and what to do if things do go wrong.
  • Hauling systems.

Join She Moves Mountains for this two-day self-rescue clinic and learn the literal ropes to keeping you and your climbing partners safe and having fun out in the wild.

FAQs

1

How many participants come by themselves?

The majority of women come to our clinics alone - somewhere around 95%.  If you are hesitating to join because you would be coming solo, please know that we expect a majority of our participants to be joining by themselves, seeking community.

2

What is the average age of the women who attend?

We generally have a wide range of ages at our retreats. The average tends to fall anywhere between the ages of 26 to 45. But we have had quite a few women in their 60's join as well. It really is up to the attitude and physical ability of the participant.
